JomPAY Payment Systems in Malaysia

Bank Negara launches JomPAY Payment Systems in April 2015 after a few month’s testing. The main purpose on the newly developed payment systems is to speed up e-payments and provides greater efficiency, convenience and accessibility for the public to make bill payments.

JomPAY provides a one-stop centre for consumers to make bill payments electronically anytime, anywhere and without any transaction fee. It will addresses the limitations of the current bank-centric model by establishing an open electronic bill payments platform.

With JomPAY, merchants only need to maintain a banking relationship with one bank, in order to receive bill payments from customers of all other banks.

Likewise, customers only need to maintain an account with one bank in order to make bill payments to the entire network of merchants registered with JomPAY. Customers will be able to pay any bill through the Internet or Mobile Banking service of Banks in Malaysia using funds from Savings, Current or Credit Card accounts for FREE.

How to make Bill Payments through JomPAY

  1. Look for the JomPAY logo, Biller Code and Reference Number (Ref-1, Ref-2) on your Bills or Invoices.
  2. Logon to Internet & Mobile Banking and look for JomPAY
  3. Enter the JomPAY Biller Code and Reference Number (Ref-1, Ref-2) with payment from your Current, Savings or Credit Card account.

If a JomPAY payment made before 17:00 on a Banking Business Day, the Biller will receive and recognize payment on the same day. If a JomPAY payment made after 17:00 on a Banking day or during weekend or public holiday, the Biller will receive payment on the next Banking Business Day.
